Fox has finally given the axe to The X Factor after three seasons, according to Entertainment Weekly. The show, which was originally imported from the UK, never quite caught on with audiences the way American Idol and The Voice have, and apparently the network has decided it’s no longer worth the cost. The site is also reporting that the show’s producer and judge, Simon Cowell, will return to the UK’s version of the series now. Cowell released this statement:

None

EW is reporting that while Fox toyed with the idea of bringing the show back for a shortened fourth season, it just wasn’t worth the risk, especially with the series only averaging around a 7.1 rating per episode. Thankfully, you can still satisfy your singing competition cravings with plenty of other shows on the air. You just won’t have Simon Cowell to kick around anymore.
