Mice Can't Even Stand the Cold Weather in NYC This Winter

Some good has come of this cold.

The cold weather in New York City this winter has actually yielded a positive: there have been fewer mouse sightings, surprisingly.

According to the New York Times, mouse violations in "multifamily dwellings" have dropped this winter as compared to the previous three:

Inspectors issued 3,171 violations from October through Feb. 25 of this year, versus 3,514 in the same period last year.

Harvard biologist and rodent aficionado Hopi Hoekstra conjectures that mice have struggled to get by this winter because it's been exceptionally cold:

None

February is essentially over, so the best course of action is to pray that these next three weeks fly by and spring arrives triumphantly.
