Excited about Guillermo del Toro's new upcoming FX series The Strain? If not, perhaps this will help: Two new images from the series via Yahoo!, which give us a sneak peek at what to expect from the series when it premieres this summer, as well as a good look at star Corey Stoll, fresh off House of Cards—now with a full head of hair!

The Strain, which received a 13-episode order from FX, follows the story Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (try saying that name three times fast), the head of the CDC's canary team in NYC, when a mysterious and ancient virus that turns people into vampires breaks out. From the official plot: "As the strain spreads, Eph, his team, and an assembly of everyday New Yorkers, wage war for the fate of humanity itself." In the images, we get a look at the CDC team in full gear preparing to battle the virus, as well as a look at Stoll and Mìa Maestro in character.

Eph is portrayed by Stoll, and the rest of the cast includes David Bradley (Filch from Harry Potter), Kevin Durand, and, as seen above, Maestro. The series was created by Del Toro and Chuck Hogan, and is based off of their novel trilogy of the same name.

The series is set to premiere on FX in July. You can check out the images above, then head over here to see a teaser for the series.
