Frozen did extremely well, too.

As expected, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire completely swept the five-day box office during this past long weekend: According to The Hollywood Reporter, the second installment in The Hunger Games franchise earned a massive $110.2 million this past weekend, successfully breaking the record previously set by Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001 for highest-grossing film during the five-day Thanksgiving weekend. During the weekend itself—a.k.a., Friday, Saturday and Sunday—the film pulled in about $74.5 million, which is the fourth-best second weekend gross in history.

That wasn't all the good news at the box office, though: Disney's Frozen managed the best Thanksgiving weekend debut ever, earning a total five-day gross of $93 million. It beats the record previously set by Toy Story 2, which was released in 1999 to earn $80.1 million.

As for the rest of the box office—it all stayed pretty much in line with predictions made this past weekend. Thor: The Dark World managed to nab the number three spot with $15.5 million for the five-day weekend, Best Man Holiday took the number four spot with $11.1 million, and rounding off the top five was Vince Vaughn's Delivery Man with $9.8 million.
