Fox Digital Entertainment and developer TinyCo have announced the creation of a new mobile game based on Family Guy, the potty-mouthed Seth MacFarlane animated sitcom that's been going strong since 1999.

The yet-to-be-named Family Guy title is heading to Android and iOS devices sometime in 2014 as a free-to-play game featuring an original story based on the enormous Family Guy catalog “as well as current events” and fart jokes.

Developer TinyCo says that the game will features resource management, but the focus will be on character and story with a “large meta-arc” that will play out over many months after release with regular updates.

It's good for fans that Fuzzy Door, Seth MacFarlane's own production copy, is working directly with the developer to keep the gameplay true to the show. The downside of a long range story arc for a free-to-play game is, of course, lots of microtransations.

Fox is looking to follow-up the wildly successful The Simpsons: Tapped Outwhich made over $100 million in just over a year.
