DICE Says "Bad Company" Sequel Will Happen

Just not right now.

Don't worry Bad Company fans, DICE creative director Lars Gustavsson told reporters at a Battlefield 4event that a third installment in the series will happen. But it won't happen anytime soon, as it has too many projects currently in development.

"My feeling is that I would love to do it. For me, when we started the company with [Battlefield] 1942, it was really a work of passion," Gustavsson said. "And then we worked our way through the era of different wars, and I loved them all, like my little babies. When it came to Bad Company, it was creative freedom; don't take yourself too seriously."

During the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) earlier this year Electronic Arts DICE announced the development of the cult hit Mirror's Edge 2 and the now-defunct Lucas Arts project Star Wars: Battlefront. Making DICE's plate understandably full.

"But trust me, the Bad Company [team] isn't forgotten, they are just on a very long vacation," said Gustavsson.

Earlier this year, Frank Gibeau the president of EA Labels said that the company would rotate its three main shooter franchises: Battlefield, Titanfall and Battlefront. EA Dice formerly switched between its successful first person shooter titles: Battlefield and Medal of Honor, which included the Bad Company series.
