Last month, Wendy's introduced its Pretzel Bacon Cheeseburger to great success in the U.S., and analysts predict sales for the quarter could hit a 9-year high. According to the New York Post, Janney Capital Market's Mark Kalinowski called the burger Wendy's "best new-product introduction" since 2002, when they began offering high-end salads.

Kalinowski published a report saying that same-store sales for the third quarter could hit 5.5 percent. That's an improvement over the past four quarters, where numbers were pretty unspectacular: 0.4, 1.0, -0.2 and 2.7 percent. Wendy's has only experienced one quarterly increase of over 5 percent since 2004. This happened back in 2011, when the Hot 'n Juicy burgers were introduced.

The Post adds that Wendy's is having a pretty damn good year, as shares have increased by 42 percent and the chain has outperformed rivals. Now, Nick Lacheyhas something else to sing about.
