Got an Oculus Rift? Looking for a way to get out of that chair and run like an insane person in soap shoes to traverse your favorite virtual reality worlds? Well Virtuix Omni is now taking pre-orders on its very cool, yet rather silly-looking gaming treadmill.

This Kickstarter darling exceeded its goal in the first day of the drive, so there is obviously a desire out there. The technology looks cool but it's hard for us to get over to the running in place with a headset on thing, but then again we're vain.

The Virtuix Omni is an omni-directional treadmill that, when paired with the virtual reality technology of the Oculus Rift, offers the most immersive gaming experience to date. $500 will get you the treadmill with special - not break face open - belt, soap-looking shoes and all the necessary tracking hardware and software. The "Duel Deluxe" edition will get you two of these beauties and all the goodies plus a third pair of shoes for when you finish Virtual Marathon Plus - okay we made that up - for only $1,020 clams. This baby is heavy so don't expect any gifts on shipping, in fact I would expect a Semi Truck.

We're not sure if this would make us run more or less in a game, but we're pretty sure we won't be playing as much Skyrim as usual in the Omni.
