Red Bull Hosting "StarCraft II" Tournament In NYC

Red Bull announced yesterday that eight of the world's best StarCraft II players would compete for $50,000 at New York City's Hammerstein Ballroom on November 23-24.

The event, dubbed Red Bull Battlegrounds, with feature champions from the inaugural Red Bull Battlegrounds tournament in 2012, Jang Min "MC" Chul and WCS Season 2 champion Ji Sung "Bomber" Choi to be joined by winners of this year's Red Bull Training Grounds evens in Santa Monica and Orlando, Myeong Hwan "Golden" Jo and Jens "Snute" Aasgaar.

"I'm grateful for the opportunity to compete in the Red Bull Battlegrounds," said Aasgaar. "So far the lineup is very stacked, and it's going to be a good challenge for sure."

The event will be held in front of a live audience with ringmaster and StarCraft caster Sean "Day9" Plott will host the event. For those who can't be there the event will also be broadcast via TwitchTV.
