Looking to get your own programmable drone? Help this Kickstarter get going, and you could be one of the first people to have one.

Spiri, the programmable drone, needs $125,000 to get off the ground, and so far has raised about $60,000. The robot will implement sensors, cameras, Wi-Fi, and cloud support, and will come with development tools. Think of it as a flying robot with a blank personaility that you can mold. And that's exactly what the project aims to do: "Our intent is to help you evolve Spiri based on your own passions, objectives, and imagination," Spiri creator Patrick Edwards-Daugherty explains. "Spiri can be a courier, a rescuer, a spelunker, a cartographer, a playmate, a gardener, an inspector, a reporter, a teammate, a wanderer, anything."

In case of a crash, the robot has reinforced carbon fiber bumpers around its rotors for protection, since no one is expecting you to be an expert at freakin' flying a drone.

Spiri is trying to be launched by April of next year. What would you do if you got your hands on a programmable drone?
