Joss Whedon Is Pro Ben Affleck As Batman, Tweets That "He's Got The Chin"

The "Avengers" director supports D.C.'s choice.

The internet has been up in arms since Warner Bros' late Thursday announcement that Ben Affleck will be the next Batman, slated to appear first in Zack Snyder's Man of Steel sequel, due in 2015. The reaction has been, for the most part, overwhelmingly negative. Many people are of the mind that Affleck isn't worthy of the cape and cowl, and instead of picking up where Bale left off, will instead follow in the failed steps of Val Kilmer and George Clooney.

It's not all bad, though. Last night the Batffleck got some love from the opposing side when Avengers helmer Joss Whedon tweeted his support. If the biggest director in Marvel's film franchise can get behind the idea, who are we to doubt? Then again, maybe Joss, production president Kevin Feige and co. are all in the Marvel offices laughing at D.C.'s struggle as we speak. Peep the tweet above, as well as supportive comment from former Dark Knights, Adam West and Kilmer.
