Yesterday, news broke that It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia co-creator and star, Glenn Howerton, told Rolling Stone in a new interview that the series was absolutely set to end after next season, because "there’s a certain point where you wear out your welcome and we don’t want to do that. We want to leave them wanting more."
It's a fair enough reason for ending series, but we couldn't help but be extremely depressed at the prospect of no more Charlie Kelly in our lives. Luckily, it looks like we might have a little bit of hope at the end of the tunnel, or at least a single ray of light: According to Howerton on his Twitter, there was a misquote in the RS article, and the season may continue past ten seasons if the cast and producers sign on for more.
