Amidst prostests asking for civil rights charges to be filed against George Zimmerman, the public has been curious about his whereabouts. Today, ABC News detailed his first public appearance since being acquitted for shooting and killing Trayvon Martin. Zimmerman reportedly helped to rescue someone who was trapped in an overturned truck on a Florida highway. Let that sink in.

ABC News reports that the crash occured at the intersection of I-4 and route 417 last week. According to Sanford Police Department Capt. Jim McAuliffe, Zimmerman "pulled an individual from a truck that had rolled over." The incident is now being handled by the Florida Highway Patrol.

Zimmerman was charged with second-degree murder for fatally shooting the unarmed teenager in Sanford, Fla. last February. He was found not guilty on Jul. 13. by a jury who determined that he acted in self-defense. In the week since his acquittal, nationwide protests have occurred, and Zimmerman's attorneys say he has been forced to wear a bulletproof vest in public.

There's really no better way to describe this other than unbelievable.
