Quantic Dream's upcoming cinematic release, Beyond: Two Souls for PlayStation 3, looks to bridge the gap between cinema and cinematic games. Having big name actors as protagonists, Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe, to star in a game whose level of detail and immersive experience looks second to none.

In this gameplay dairy for Beyond: Two Souls, developers explain the process and reinforce the importance of story on the execution of every aspect of the game whose script is nearly 2,000 pages long.

The game follows 15 years of the life of its main character, played by Ellen Page, and her connection to a mysterious soul. Told in a style that looks as close to playing a movie as technology will currently allow. 35 minutes of Two Souls was shown at the Tribeca Film Festival this year, only the second video game to be recognized by the film festival.

Play through Ellen Page's character's grumpy goth years on October 8, when the game drops for PlayStation 3 in North America.
