The trailer for David O. Russell's highly anticipated new film American Hustle has just been released, and good news: It's pretty damn great. In addition to Russell's Silver Linings Playbook stars Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence, the film's star-studded cast also boasts Christian Bale, Jeremy RennerAmy Adams, Louis C.K., and Robert De Niro—all looking very '70s with tight curls (never forget those paparazzi photos of Bradley Cooper wearing hair curlers), Farrah Fawcett-style waves, and ridiculous clothing.

The film itself is based on the historic ABSCAM sting operation that took place in the late 1970s, and will focus on the story of financial con artist Irving Rosenfeld (Bale) and his mistress Sydney Prosser (Adams) as they work with "out of control" federal agent Richie DiMaso (Cooper) to unveil a huge public corruption scandal. From the looks of this trailer, the film looks like it's going to be a great watch, and will likely be considered during awards season.

If watching mobsters and con artists at work is your idea of a Christmas day well spent, more good news: American Hustle is set to hit theaters on December 25th. You can check out the trailer above.
