Things are not looking up for Paula Deen. After the Food Network dropped her show, Deen made a tearful apology on the Today show ("I is what I is"), but her sponsors weren't convinced. Deen had a shitload of endorsement deals, and she's been losing them one by one: Sears, J.C. Penney, Target, Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Smithfield Foods, and Caesars Entertainment.

Now, her already bestselling cookbook has been yanked before publication. Paula Deen's New Testament: 250 Favorite Recipes, All Lightened Up was set to come out in October, but the preorder was #1 in cookbooks on Amazon and #18 overall. It would have been a huge seller for Ballantine Books, but they decided to cancel publication after "careful consideration." It was supposed to be the first of a five-book deal.

"I am confident that these books will be published and that we will have a new publisher," Deen's literary agent said. It's also rumored that she'll be joining the 17th season of Dancing With the Stars. It may be the way to get back in fans' good graces, but it may make people hate her even more. Many contestants have credited the show with dramatic weight loss—would Deen really dance off all that butter and oil?

Deen said she loves the show back in 2010 but that she had turned it down. ""Fat girls don't look good sweating. I've got catfish arms," she said. "And I've got—is that a muffin top right there?" (Yes.)
