Pandora Introduces HTML5 Player For Your Living Room

Sweet.

None

Pandora, the popular Internet radio, launched a new HTML5-based interface specifically for your home.

More than 10 million Pandora users have listened to music on their TVs, but fragmentation often occurs with TVs, set-top boxes and blu-ray players. Tom Conrad, the company's CTO said Pandora's new goal is therefore to switch these platforms to the browser-based interface over time.

"The world doesn’t need more proprietary platforms fragmenting the innovative efforts of developers everywhere," he said.

The new version, supported by Xbox 360 and PS3, gives users control over the experience with their remote controls. The "10-foot" interface also allows them to play, pause, stop and even thumb-up or down sound tracks just like Pandora's other apps.
