David Schwarz, a Duke Ph.D student has been including students in his mind controlled game experiments. Using wireless electrode caps that capture the electrical activity from the neurons in their brains, students controlled Pong paddles onscreen.

Schwarz works with Dr. Miguel Nicolelis, a pioneer in capturing brain activity to control machines. in 1999 his lab developed a way for a rat to control a robot arm with it's mind and in 2011 it showed off a monkey that could move a computer cursor on screen just by thinking. So getting you across a Halo map with your mind shouldn't be too far off.

While the game applications are limited to Pong at the moment but as the technology get's more testing and sophistication we hope wait to see the application of a mind-controlled peripheral.
