Boston Bombing Suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev Indicted

The latest development in the case.

According to the U.S. attorney's office, Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has been indicted by a federal grand jury after the 30-count indictment was returned today. Tsarnaev has been charged with using weapons of mass destruction and killing three people following the Apr. 15 blast that injured 260 people. He's also been charged for killing MIT police officer Sean Collier. Seventeen of the counts could be punished by the death penalty.

Authorities believe that Tsarnaev and his older brother, Tamerlan, planted the explosives. Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, was killed in an April shootout with police.

A 3 p.m. press conference will be held today where U.S. Attorney Carmen J. Ortiz is expected to be joined by the head of the Massachusetts State Police, the head of the Boston FBI and representatives from the Suffolk and Middlesex district attorney's office.
