This morning, the Boston Police Department announced that they had arrested three more people in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings. Even with the shocking news of more arrests, authorities were quick to add that there is no threat to public safety.

The additional arrests were made because three people allegedly helped 19-year-old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, which Tsarnaev attended, after the bombings were committed. The BPD issued a statement saying “Additional details will be provided when they become available.”

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has been charged with malicious destruction of property and using a weapon of mass destruction in the Apr. 15 bombings that left over 180 people injured and three dead. His brother, 26-year-old Tamerlan Tsarnaev, was killed during a shootout with police as the two attempted to escape just days after the bombing.
