Grand Central Terminal Is Getting a Shake Shack

Everybody wins.

None

Expect a Shake Shack in Grand Central Terminal by the end of 2013. After Mexican restaurant Zocalo was finally evicted, Shake Shack is eager to take over the space it's so badly wanted for years. After a fierce battle, Danny Meyer's burger joint claimed the rights to the space at the beginning of the month. MTA stands to gain $567,000 a year by the time Shake Shack's 10-year lease expires, plus 8 percent of the gross sales.

Grand Central Terminal is about to get burgers and a lot of money. Other than the people at Zocalo, who's mad at that?
