Rumor: Boost Mobile to Sell Pre-Paid iPhones Later This Year

Convenient.

Boost Mobile will begin offering pre-paid iPhones later this year, according to @evleaks, a leading Twitter source for phone rumors. More precisely, shoppers will see the iPhones hit stores around the third quarter of 2013.

Sprint already has an iPhone deal with Apple, so the move to sell pre-paid devices should come as no surprise. The phone has been available in a pre-paid format at Cricket and Virgin Mobile since last year, so it makes sense Boost would want to get in on the action. All three carriers aim for a younger, less flush demographic looking to enter the smartphone market without breaking the bank.
