Looks like the Freddie Highmore- Vera Farmiga-starring Psycho prequel series, Bates Motel, is set to be a huge success for A&E. According to Deadline, last night's premiere of the show broke cable records for the network, pulling in a total of 3 million viewers - 1.599 million in the advertiser coveted 18-49 demographic, and 1.633 million in the 25-54 demographic. This makes the series the most-watched premiere in the network's history, besting the previous record set by Breakout Kings in 2011.

In total, the premiere pulled in 4.6 million viewers - an encore presentation aired right after the initial 10 PM premiere. You'll be a star after all, Norman Bates!
