"Oz The Great and Powerful" Is on Track to Have the Biggest Box Office Opening of 2013 So Far

Looks like Disney has a bona fide hit on their hands with Oz The Great and Powerful. According to Deadline, early estimates predict that the film is on track to earn between $70 million and $74 million this weekend, which would make it the biggest opening in 2013 so far. The film earned a whopping total of $23.5 million on Friday - which includes the impressive $2 million it turned during Thursday midnight showings. 

The film, which coast $215 million to make, stars Mila Kunis, Michelle Williams, James Franco, and Rachel Weisz, and was directed by Sam Raimi. We'll have an update on the weekend box office when it becomes available.
