Due to renovations and Hurricane Sandy damage, the Statue of Liberty has been closed for over a year now. Soon enough, the wait will be over, as it's been announced that Lady Liberty will be open for business before Memorial Day.
The reopening was seriously halted by Hurricane Sandy, but the government has set aside $28 million to aid national parks and recreational areas damaged by the storm. The Statue of Liberty falls under this category, so it will be open once again before the summer.
