State officials in Massachusetts have removed nine violent game machines from state-run highway rest stops in Charlton, Ludlow, Lee and Beverly, in response to reported complaint.
"Bottom line is I think there isn't a person who doesn't believe that there isn't too much violence in our society, and games can glorify that," Mass. Transportation Secretary Richard Davey told The Boston Globe. "A video game in a public space could be used by anybody of any age."
He isn't wrong, but is removing violent games the right way to respond to the tragedy in Newtown, Conn.? On the other hand, at least they're not incinerating the games (as far as we know).
