According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tina Fey is in final negotiations to star in Disney’s upcoming sequel to The Muppets. The movie will be a follow-up to 2011’s Muppets revival, and it will see the gang set off to Europe on an adventure. If Fey does agree to sign on, she will be joining Ricky Gervais and Ty Burrell as the human stars of the film.
Fey will potentially play a Russian gulag prison guard if a deal is made. And though the plot of the movie is being kept a secret at this point, it seems like this Muppets story will be a European caper of some sort. Director James Bobin will return for this sequel, but so far an official release date has not been announced.
