Every Crysis game so far has been a first-person shooter, but that doesn't mean that the series can never go in another direction. Crytek producer Michael Elliot Read revealed to Dusty Cartridge that the developers are considering branching off into other genres for future Crysis games.

"I think the Crysis franchise itself has life left in it. Whether it’s in a different game type format, whether it’s expanding upon this, it’s hard to say," he said. "I think in terms of the universe, we have a lot more life left in that to go back and try some unique stuff. Whether it’s FPS or not I have no idea, but there’s definitely a future in the franchise."

There you have it. What other areas of gaming would you want Crytek to explore within the Crysis universe? How about a real-time strategy game like Halo Wars? Would a Fallout-style RPG work?
