Sean Penn To Team With "Taken" Director For "Prone Gunman"

We're assuming Liam Neeson was too busy fighting a pack of wolves to do this.

None

Not satisfied with letting Liam Neeson turn into Hollywood’s most marketable middle-aged action star, Sean Penn has signed on to star in a new thriller titled Prone Gunman, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The movie will be directed by Pierre Morel and will be produced by Joel Silver and Andrew Rona.

Based on the novel by Jean-Patrick Manchette, Prone Gunman is about an international operative named Martin Terrier, who is betrayed by the organization that he works for and is caught in a game of cat-and-mouse across Europe. The script is being handled by Peter Travis, and will begin production this spring.

Only time will tell if Penn can match the testosterone-drenched action films that revitalized Liam Neeson’s career.
