Sorry, guys: Looks like we're all going to have to wait a little bit longer to check out Kimberly Peirce's remake of Carrie. According to Indiewire, the film, which stars Chloë Moretz in the titular role and Julianne Moore as her creepy, nightmare-induring mother, has been given a new release date. Originally set to hit theaters in March, the film will now be released on October 18th, just in time for Halloween.

While it sucks that we're going to have to wait seven months more to see this, the new release date does make sense, and will probably help the film fare better in the box office. At least we've got super-ominous the teaser trailer until then!
