"Playing For Keeps" Bombs At Box Office, "Skyfall" Reclaims Top Spot

Bad news for the new Gerard Butler/Jessica Biel pic, Playing for KeepsThe Hollywood Reporter is reporting that the film debuted at the number six spot this weekend, pulling in a disappointing $6 million. Meanwhile, Skyfall managed to dethrone Breaking Dawn for the top spot in the box office this weekend, despite being released over a month ago - that about $11 million. Those earnings bring Skyfall's worldwide earnings to $918 million total, making it the highest-grossing film released by Sony ever. This is in addition to the previously reported news that the film had become the number one movie of all time in the UK. Not bad, Bond.

DreamWorks Animation and Paramount's Rise of the Guardians managed to climb the charts and come in at number 2 this weekend, with $10.5 million earned. That brings its domestic earnings total to a disappointing $61.9 million so far, but the studio is reportedly hoping that holiday box office sales will change this.
