Paramount is altering the promotional material for their upcoming Tom Cruise-starring action film, Jack Reacher, in the wake of the tragic Newtown shootings, the Hollywood Reporter is reporting. Though the studio wouldn't officially say what the changes were, they did confirm that a scene featuring Cruise's titular character, Jack Reacher, firing off a semi-automatic gun had been cut from the trailers for the film.

This is the latest move Hollywood has made to pay respect to the victims of the shooting at a Newtown elementary school, which left twenty children and 6 faculty members dead. Last week, Fox pulled new episodes of Family Guy and American Dad from their Sunday schedule, and this past Monday, The Weinstein Company announced that the Los Angeles premiere of Quentin Tarantino's new film, Django Unchained had been canceled in light of the tragedy.
