It's offical: Damon Lindelof will not be writing the script for the sequel to Prometheus. Speaking to Collider at an event for the Star Trek sequel, the screenwriter confirmed rumors that he will be unavailable due to the project he's working on with Brad Bird.

From the interview:

None

As he references in his comments, Lindelof was criticised by fans after the film's release, many of them blaming him for the film's creative shortcomings. No word yet on who will replace Lindelof to write the sequel, but at least we know it won't be Tyler Perry - he's too busy writing his own sci-fi flick in response to Prometheus. Oh well.
