These photos of Cass Technical High School in Detroit are haunting and beautiful. The school, which lists Diana Ross and Jack White as alumni, was founded in 1907 and was the largest school in Michigan circa 1942, 4,200 students. It moved to a new building in 2005, leaving the new original 830,000-square-foot space vacant.

The building experienced vandalism and fires after it closed, including a 2007 blaze that injured two firemen and policemen. The building was demolished late last year, but these images make it appear as though ghosts walked the hallways prior to its destruction.
