Good news, The Killing fans - looks like Netflix has got your back after all. According to Deadline, it seems that the site may be looking to pick up the dearly (or not so dearly, depending on who you ask) departed series for a third season, after AMC cancelled it this past summer due to low ratings and criticisms about the direction of the plot.

Though nothing is official yet, word is that AMC is close to a deal with Netflix to bring the show back. Details are vague, but it seems the idea is that AMC would premiere the series in tandem with Netflix, and both companies would split the cost of production.

And, as far as plot goes, there's possibly some hope for this series after all: The change of heart from AMC is reportedly due to a "strong third-season pitch" from executive producer and series developer Veena Sud
