Gmail users will now be able to send much larger files thanks to Google Drive's recent integration into the popular email service.
Whereas before Gmail allowed attachments no larger than 25MB, users will now be able to send documents, images, videos, and music files up to 10GB.
Google will also be rolling out its "smart assistant" technology which correlates directly with the Gmail and Google Drive integration. Product manager Phil Sharp explains how smart assistant works in a blog post:
"Like a smart assistant, Gmail will also double-check that your recipients all have access to any files you're sending. This works like Gmail's forgotten attachment detector: whenever you send a file from Drive that isn't shared with everyone, you'll be prompted with the option to change the file's sharing settings without leaving your email. It'll even work with Drive links pasted directly into emails."
As long as you upgraded to Gmail's new composing window expect to see Google Drive within the next few days.
