Activision has just announced that they will need to start building a new money bin to hold of the stacks that they are now holding.

$500 million in the first day is a haul that would make any arms trader proud. The franchise's previous record, $400 million in one day, held by Modern Warfare 3 was blown out of the water by the new one day sales of Black Ops 2.

1 million units were moved at GameStop alone, and Amazon has reported that Black Ops 2 was the most pre-ordered game ever. Check back in when we get the first week numbers, I'm sure they'll be equally as eye-popping. Hey, Activision, you wanna pay off the national debt when you get a second? Thanks!
