In a development that surprised absolutely no one, Paranormal Activity 4 took the top spot at the box office this weekend, earning about $30 million. Though these numbers are down from the amount that both the second and third Paranormal films earned, it's still solid opening numbers for an otherwise slow weekend at the box office. The weekend's other wide release, Alex Cross, pulled in significantly less earnings, opening at #4 with only $12 million earned.

As for other films playing this weekend, Ben Affleck's Argo continued to perform well, earning $16.7 million - only down 14% compared to last week's $20.1 million. These numbers were enough to keep it in the #2 spot at the box office, same as last week. Taken 2 also continued to rake in the cash, earning $13.3 million and sitting comfortably at the #3 spot.
