The folks over at Red Barrels Games knows how you feel about the current state of the survival-horror genre in today's gaming climate.

They know and they are hoping to change it. Made up of industry vets, Red Barrel developers have worked on some titles you may have heard of: Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, Assassin's Creed, Far Cry 3, and Splinter Cell: Conviction are just a few.

The team hopes to create "unforgettable single-player games." And after some recent big budget 'mehs' in the survival- horror genre (cough Capcom cough), the team is hoping to make horror games that are, well, scary again. Watch the trailer and let us know what you think on Twitter.

Outlast is slated for a summer 2013 release on PC.
