A Staten Island teenager who was terrorized by bullies committed suicide yesterday by jumping in front of a train while classmates looked on. 15-year-old Felicia Garcia was standing with other students on the Huguenot Staten Island Railway station platform when the sobbing teen suddenly threw herself in front of a train. She later died at Staten Island University Hospital.

On Monday, Garcia tweeted "I can’t. I’m done. I give up," and friends blame her suicide on bullying. Multiple students, including a friend who asked that the New York Post not identify her/him, said that Garcia was tormented by the football team. Another friend, Alissa Compitello, says that Garcia wouldn't have ended her life had she not been bullied.

Gabriella Leone's younger sister witnessed the tragedy, and Leone says that Garcia lived in foster homes and "had a terrible life on top of all the heartache—bullies at school taunted her and spread rumors. I hope all bullies get punished!” Garcia chronicled her depression online, even posting a picture of herself on her Instagram with her eyes covered by the word "Depressed."

The photo had the caption "Just because someone is smiling doesn’t make them happy.”
