Don't let this action-packed trailer fool you—XCOM: Enemy Unknown is a turn-based strategy game through-and-through. There are plenty of cinematic moments, sure, and the production values overall are higher than your average strategy romp. But the complexity level that strategy aficionados demand, right down to in-depth unit customization and resource management between missions, is all there as well.
At least, that's how it seemed after the first hour or so of playing. Unfortunately, we haven't had a chance to fully delve into Enemy Unknown yet, but with a few missions under our belt we think it's safe to give it our recommendation. And what do you know? It launches today.
