During an appearance by the Dalai Lama at Brown University, a translation error caused the 5,600 in attendance to bust out laughing. His Holiness the Dalai Lama found this surprising. He'd just shared one of his trademark profundities, but the final word of the quote was mistranslated.
The quote was supposed to read, "If you feel these points are not much relevant, not much interest, then forget." However, the mental lapse by the stenographer changed the meaning into something else entirely: "If you feel these points are not much relevant, not much interest, then fuck it."
The Dalai Lama's personal translator confirmed that the word was supposed to be "forget."
