Yesterday was judgment day for all of New York City's bucket-sized sugary drinks. Any sweetened drink above 16 oz. will be banned everywhere from restaurants to movie theaters—any establishment that receives a graded inspection from the health department. Even though Mayor Bloomberg dropped the ban-hammer, the actual restrictions won't go into effect for another six months; however, that hasn't stopped the denizens of Twitter from voicing their anger and concerns over diminishing American freedoms

While both sides of the argument on banning drink sizes are represented here, many folks appear to believe that it is the first step to living in 1984. We collected the most outrageous tweets on Mayor Bloomberg's movement against sugary drinks. Enjoy how Twitter reacts to the NYC Soda Ban
