The man of many shows, J.J. Abrams, is living up to his name - with the end of Fringe looming in the distance, the AliasLostPerson of Interest, and Alcatraz creator has reportedly already sold another new show to Fox, this time a robot-buddy cop comedy. The network has picked up the show with a pilot production commitment.

The series is described as an "action-packed buddy cop show, set in the near future," when "all LAPD officers are partnered with highly evolved human-like androids." Sounds like the premise for some potentially new and interesting plotlines we've never seen before! Or it could turn into Robocop times thirty. Either way.

Former Fringe showrunner J.H. Wyman will write and executive produce, while Abrams will act as just executive producer.
