Canadian Constable Scott Heron was arrested following a nine-month investigation for his role in a "cheese-smuggling ring." Yes, actual cheese. Heron and two partners from the Niagara Regional Police were charged with conspiracy, smuggling and a rack of other violations for smuggling $200,000 worth of cheese into Canada from the U.S. without paying taxes. Once again, actual cheese.

The cheese sting was part of an internal investigation by the Niagra Regional Police, which has to be pretty embarrassed right now. The bust has caused local restaurants to defend the acquisition of their cheese, as legitimacy claims have sprung up left and right. The crooked cops made a reported 165,000 Canadian dollars for the cheese, which translates into about $168,000 American dollars

We hope it was worth it.
