The latest trailer for 2K's upcoming strategy franchise reboot, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, highlights one of the game's unique mechanics: permanent death.
As the commander of the alien-fighting XCOM department, you'll be sending the nation's top operatives out into battle. And when those operatives die, they're dead. You'll have to replace them with someone else. That's going to be a pain in the ass, since you'll have to train new recruits up to speed. And because, you know. Sadness.
