Courtesy of The Playlist, we have another clip from director Paul Thomas Anderson's (There Will Be Blood) upcoming film, The Master. In this brief bit of footage we see Joaquin Phoenix running by the docks in San Francisco in order to find his ship, which he somehow lost. Obviously there isn't much here in terms of plot or dialogue, but this clip gives a good sense of the film's look and the way Anderson has shot the movie.
In a time when most directors stay on a single shot for no longer than 10 seconds, it's refreshing to see the camera track Phoenix for a full uninterrupted minute. This clip also works to advertise a screening of the movie tonight at the Castro Theater in San Francisco to benefit The Film Foundation. It's being show in a 70mm print, so if you're in the area we suggest checking it out.
