It's a tough economic climate out there, so potential employees are always looking for ways to make their resumés and cover letters stand out from the rest. But whatever you do, don't follow the lead of Vanessa Hojda. When the 20-year-old York University student attempted to apply for a job as an administrative assistant at her school, she accidentally attached a JPG of Nicolas Cage to her email application instead of her resumé and cover letter.
She chronicled the harrowing ordeal on her personal Tumblr by posting, "Jesus Christ I accidently [sic] sent my potential future boss a picture of Nic Cage rather than my cover letter+resume, which was a zip file titled with a bunch of numbers like the JPG I accidentally attached oh my God."
Her Tumblr page describes her as a "Fucking Weirdo," which is plainly evident after reading about this escapade. Ironically it also has a tab for asking questions titled, "The Answer Is Nicolas Cage." Well that's certainly the answer to her parents' question of, "Why didn't you get that job?"
