Activision and High Moon Studios announced today that Transformers: Fall of Cybteron will hit store shelves on August 21st, a week earlier than expected. Activision announced Fall of Cybertron's original release date all the way back in March. Apparently the team got things done ahead of schedule.

The sequel to 2010's War for Cybertron, Fall of Cybertron shows the final days of the Autobots' and Decepticons' war on their home planet. The sequel has dinobots, city-sized robots like Metroplex and, based on the trailers, a LOT of dubstep.

With the game almost in stores, High Moon Studios will move on to their next project, a game based on a yet-to-be-announced Marvel franchise. The developer plans to unveil the game, or at least announce what it is, at Marvel's video game panel during Comic-Con in San Diego next week.
