After four long years, Konami will release a patch adding trophies to Metal Gear Solid 4: Sons of the Patriots, according to Famitsu. A Japanese "greatest hits" edition of the game coming out in August will have trophies added in, with a co-inciding patch coming for older versions of the game.

According to Andriasang, Kojima Productions plans to hold an event in Tokyo to celebrate Metal Gear's 25th anniversary on August 30th. Hideo Kojima will supposedly announce "something new" at the event, possibly related to his proprietary "Transfarring" save feature.

"Transfarring", first implemented with Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, allows players to seamlessly transfer save information from home consoles to handhelds. Kojima has said that the feature was included in the HD Collection as a test, and that Transfarring will play a central role in his next game.
